How a round works

Once you understand the rules of Teen Patti, every round becomes more enjoyable.

A game of Teen Patti begins with each player being dealt three cards. The dealer uses a standard 52-card deck and each player takes turns placing a bet or folding.

At the start of each round, a fixed "boot" amount is placed into the pot. Play then moves clockwise — each player decides whether to raise, call, or fold. The last player remaining, or the one with the best hand at showdown, wins the entire pot.

In Teen Patti, a player can choose to play Blind (without looking at their cards) or Seen (after looking at their cards) — this difference affects the betting amounts. A Blind player can bet less than a Seen player.

Multiple live Teen Patti tables are available in the takabet Casino section, where trained dealers run the game in real time.

Hand Rankings — from highest to lowest

Knowing the hand order in Teen Patti means you are already halfway there.

Rank Hand Name Description Status
1 Trail / Three of a Kind Three cards of the same value (e.g. three Aces) Highest
2 Pure Sequence / Straight Flush Three consecutive cards of the same suit Very Strong
3 Sequence / Straight Three consecutive cards of different suits Strong
4 Color / Flush Three cards of the same suit (not in sequence) Medium
5 Pair Two cards of the same value Common
6 High Card None of the above — the highest single card counts Lowest

In a tie, the winner is decided by card value, not suit. Ace is generally the highest, but in a 2-3-Ace sequence, the Ace counts as the lowest card.

Against the dealer or against other players?

Teen Patti is primarily a multiplayer card game — meaning you win by beating the other players at the table for the pot, not by beating the dealer directly. Every player competes for the same pot, which makes it completely different from games like Baccarat or Blackjack.

However, some live casino tables offer a "Dealer Challenge" format where you only try to beat the dealer's hand — the other players are not your opponents. This format is particularly suitable for beginners as you only need to focus on one hand.

Both types of tables are available at takabet. Players from Dhaka and across Bangladesh can connect online and compete at the same table. To start a session, first log in to your account from the takabet login page.

Basic tips for beginners

Keeping a few things in mind from the start reduces mistakes and helps your sessions last longer.

  • 01
    Start with small bets
Keep your bet amounts low in the first few sessions. It makes sense to raise your stakes only after you have a feel for how the table moves.
  • 02
    Play Blind first
Playing without looking at your cards (Blind) keeps your bets lower. Get a feel for the rhythm of the game without the pressure of having to act on what you see.
  • 03
    Watch how others play
Knowing who is aggressive and who is cautious can sometimes be more useful than the cards in your own hand.
  • 04
    Fold at the right time
Pushing the pot higher with a weak hand is a losing path. Knowing when to fold is a skill in itself.
  • 05
Use the Sideshow or Back Show wisely
Request a Sideshow against a Seen player to compare hands — but use it at a strategic moment.
  • 06
    Choose free or low-stakes tables
Beginners who practice at low-bet tables can build their skills without making a big dent in their main balance.

Remember to play responsibly

Teen Patti is a mix of skill and luck. Set a fixed limit for each session and make a firm habit of not going beyond it. Treat the game as entertainment, not a source of income.

Popular Variants

Beyond classic Teen Patti, there are several other formats worth exploring.

Classic Teen Patti

The original format — three cards, multiplayer, competing for the pot. The best place to start.

Most Popular

TeenPatti Joker

A wild Joker card is added to the deck and can represent any value — greatly increasing your chances of building a strong hand.

JILI Game

Teen Patti 20-20

A fast format where you play hands against the dealer — each round is short and straightforward, making it popular with beginners.

JILI Game

High-Low Variant

The highest and lowest hands split the pot — giving you the chance to win two prizes in a single round.

Strategic

Muflis

The rankings are reversed — the weakest hand wins. A completely different strategy is needed for a familiar game.

Reverse Rules

Banker Mode

One player acts as the Banker and plays against everyone else — single focus, greater responsibility.

Advanced Level

Table etiquette and session management

Good behaviour and a planned session reflect a mature player, even online.

Make decisions on time

Making quick decisions on each turn keeps the pace of the table steady and does not make other players wait.

Keep your hand private

Hinting at your cards in live chat or conversation gives other players an unfair advantage.

Set your budget in advance

Decide the maximum amount you are willing to spend before starting a session, and stay within that limit.

Accept losses calmly

Losing is a normal part of the game. Raising bets out of anger or frustration to recover losses usually makes things worse.

Set a winning target

Set not only a loss limit but also a winning target — when you reach that target, end the session.

Take regular breaks

Focus drops and the chance of making poor decisions increases during long sessions. Take at least one short break every hour.

How to stay calm during long sessions

If you plan to play Teen Patti for an extended period, keep a few things in mind. Stick to a consistent bet size — do not double your bet on impulse when you are winning. By the same token, do not pressure yourself to recover losses quickly when you are on a losing run.

Use the chat feature at live tables to keep a friendly conversation going with the dealer and other players — it keeps the atmosphere positive and your focus fresh.

Questions about Teen Patti

Usually 3 to 7 players can sit at a Teen Patti table. In online live versions, some tables allow even more players to join. As the number of players increases, the pot grows larger, but the competition also gets tougher.

A Blind player plays without looking at their cards and bets half the amount of a Seen player. A Seen player looks at their cards before deciding, so their bet is higher. When a Blind player calls a Seen player, the Blind player must match the Seen player's bet — doubling it in effect. This rule is strategically important.

A Sideshow (Back Show) can only happen between two Seen players. You may request a Sideshow from the player who bet just before you. If they agree, both hands are compared and the weaker hand must fold. If they decline, the game continues normally.

A Trail (three cards of the same value) always beats a Pure Sequence (three consecutive cards of the same suit). A Trail is the highest hand in Teen Patti. Three Aces is the best Trail, and three 2s is the lowest — but even that beats any Pure Sequence.

If two players have the same hand rank, the card values are compared. For example, if both have a Pair, the player with the higher-value Pair wins. If the hands are completely equal, some versions split the pot evenly while others use suit order to break the tie — it is best to check the table rules beforehand.

The core structure is the same — three cards, hand rankings, and betting rules are nearly identical. In the Joker variant, wild cards give you more ways to build a strong hand. Teen Patti 20-20 offers a faster format where you play only against the dealer. If you know classic Teen Patti, adapting to these variants does not take long.
